John hails from rural south-west Missouri and spent more than a decade in the U.S. Army. While in the service, John was assigned as a military police soldier and Non-Commissioned Officer and spent time conducting both law enforcement operations here in the U.S. and supported combat operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. John earned his Bachelors of Science in Criminal Justice while on active duty.
After receiving an honorable discharge, John attended Washington University in St. Louis School of Law, where he earned his juris doctor. During school he interned for the US Attorney's Office for the Southern District of Illinois, a civil law firm, the St. Louis County Prosecutor's Office, and the St Louis Circuit Attorney's Office.
Once admitted to the bar, John worked as an assistant prosecuting attorney in Greene County, then went on to provide legal defense on behalf of insurance companies, and recently worked as the chief assistant prosecuting attorney in Lafayette County, where he primarily prosecuted a felony and misdemeanor case load. He also provided legal counsel to county office holders on matters ranging from land use and zoning law to open records requests.
John resides in Odessa, Missouri with his wife and daughter.
